Brisbane day 4 - Gold Coast

Woke up this morning after an extremely long night.  Stayed up talking with a few friends until the sun came up at 4am (yes 4am).  One of the most gorgeous sunrises I have ever seen (not that I have seen many).  After a good 4 hours of sleep we all got up around 8am ready to get to the beach as soon as possible.  I was feeling great and ready have a lazy day and get burnt up in the Australian sun.  I threw on some sun screen, tank top, sandals, shades, and swim suit and was ready to go!  We headed out to the beach but before we did this we had to stop and grab some food.  We had a great meal then decided to stop by a place and grab a beach towel since none of us had one.  Soon after getting to the beach and taking my shirt off - I felt as if I got put inside of an oven and quickly made my way to the invitingly clear/blue water ocean to cool off.  Turns out that I had no idea what I was getting myself into becuase as soon as I stepped foot inside that darn ocean I think I turned five years old again.  As soon as the water rushed in between my toes and my brain realized I was in paradise I could not help myself but to sprint, like a child, into the ocean until a wave took me down.  It has been too long since I have had a euphoric moment like that in quite some time.  The water temperature was perfect, the waves were huge, the current wasn't that bad, and you can't get anymore safe than swimming in front of a few lifeguards with seadoos ready to come get you if you need any assistance.  They have two poles with flags on them in shore that you have to stay in between and if you get too far out the life guards are quick to get on their megaphones and tell you to please come back in a little  bit.  If you begin to drift out the they are extremely quick to come and help you back in.

Anyways so tonight we had another great meal.  We did Burgers, fries, and salad.  Andrew introduced me to puting peanut butter on your burger along with everything else.  Turns out I have been missing out big time!  It was great.  We are planning on having a lazy night and getting up early in the morning to head back to Birsbane hotel apartments to meet up with our professors and get some work done at the local library!  Hope everyone is doing great and GO TIGERS (LSU).
