Brisbane day 8 - last day in brisbane and this guy is sick

Today was a pretty easy day.  When I say easy I mean that we had no commitments until 5pm where we were supposed to walk a few bridges.  When I say supposed to walk a few bridges I mean that the rest of the group did and I did not.  Before I tell you why I wasn't able to make it on the bridge walk about I'm going to tell you about my day.

I woke up around 10am and this was weird to me because I have not slept passed 8 this entire trip so when I woke up that late I thought it was a little strange.... Maybe my body was telling me something...???  Later on in the day (1pm) I decided to head downtown to grab a bite to eat since it was our last day in Brisbane and I had ran out of noodles and milk.  After I grabbed some Pie Face (chain that started in New York and has exploded around the East Coast region of Australia) I headed down to the library to get some work done.  I was there for about 2 hours and got a ton of work done.  I actually got in touch with two contacts that I have been wanting to get in touch with for about 2 months now.   I was really excited about that so after I got off the phone with both of them I went back to my computer (don't worry - my friends were looking after all of my stuff) and started feeling really hot.  After about thirty minutes of feeling kind of bad I walked downtown with Jason so he could get a new computer since his computer drank a glass of water two nights before.  During that walk (it was about 4pm) I knew I was not going to feel well enough to go on a walk to look at bridges for a few hours.  I had the sweats and it was one of those quick colds where I felt really cold in warm weather and really hot in our cold room.  I HAD TO LAY DOWN!  I got back to my room at our apartment and quickly called one of our professors and told him that I was not going to be able to make it.  I know he was upset about me not making it and I was too, to be honest.  I then fell asleep for about three hours and woke up feeling a little dizzy so I went to the local coffee shop to grab some food which made me feel a little better.

As soon as I got back to the room I turned on the T.V. and watched "the greatest 90's one hit wonders" which got me feeling a ton better because every song was from an American band/singer and it took me back to the old days.  Honestly, 90's music has had more of an impact in my life than any other music I have listened to.  I will say that my musical taste has been expanding earlier than the 90's.  My parents never listened to music around me... It was always MPR or they wanted me to put in a CD to listen to so I never got a dosage of music before the 90's from my parents.  I'm not saying that I couldn't have listened to music that was made before my time but you must admit that most people are opened up to music through their parents!

Anyways, while I was listening to the one hit wonders of the 90's I pumped out some homework, research, and blogging.  It turned out to be a very productive night and I am about to pass out!  I still feel like crap but I'll get to feeling better tomorrow (I hope).  Where did I get this fear of flying?!  I'll be off to Melbourne tomorrow morning around 8am and I CAN NOT WAIT!  I hear that this will probably be one of the best stops of the trip.  Well, good night/good morning to all and you'll be hearing from me soon.
