Day 7 Melbourne - Melbourne Museum of Art

Today was a half day for us.  We headed to the Melbourne Museum of Art where I was very intrigued by their art (especially their photography part of the museum).  After we went to the museum we headed out to St. Kilda Beach which was an extremely nice beach except for the wind.  Turns out that there was a reason for so many kite surfers.  After getting blasted from the wind on the beach I called JetStar to be sure to check in because we were surprised to find out that checking in our luggage would cost us 85 dollars each.  If we called a day in advance it only costs 41 dollars… It really makes me miss seeing all those SouthWest Airline commercials that say “baggage flies free”.  While I was trailing behind and speaking with the customer service reps for JetStar Airlines our group decided to go to a pizza place that costs 5 dollars for pizza.  The pizza was great and we headed back to the apartment soon after we finished eating.  Tonight, we plan on watching a few movies since it is so expensive and parents are starting to get mad at some of their kids for spending too much money.  I guess it is hard to believe that our dollar is extremely weak over here.  I also never imagined how expensive it was over here as well.  What we were told about 50 dollars a day turned out to be 50 dollars a day if you just wanted to eat two meals and no drink.  I am definitely going to have to give the parents a huge hug when I get back.
